I have a Manson EP920 PSU that has developed a fault.
For the last few days when first switched on the over current warning lamp came on, after a short while it would go off and the PSU would fire up. Now when switched on the over current warning light comes on and stops on, even with no equipment hooked up to it. So theres no load on it at all, and the the over cureent warning light is on all the time. I've had one do this before, same PSU but badged up as a palstar, someone fixed it, but they are now SK and for the life of me I can't remember what he did to it. Any clues fellas? Cheers Steve |

Found the fault and repaired. If you remove the PCB from the front panel
and look just below the Voltage control pot, there is a small 5K
preset marked as VR2. THis when turned worked intermittantly. I
replaced this preset and the PSU now gives full power out with no
difficulties.
If your Manson/Palstar has the warning light coming on every now and then on power up, or as in my case stops on all the time, it's worth checking this little preset. |
