How to make an HB9CV

(or at least, how G8TTI made one!)

The HB9CV is a well known two element antenna of a directional beam type with a forward gain of 4 to 5 dBd.
This one is for two metres but it can be scaled, from the dimensions in the diagram, for other bands I’ve also made them for four and six metres.

The gamma match and compensating capacitor.
Fed here at the reflector, this matched okay and was easy to use as I just used mine for DF work, the extended boom acting as a handle. The capacitor will need weather proofing if the antenna is to be mounted outside.
